What’s the deal with all of this?
When the speaker volume on your smartphone drops to an unusable level, it’s most likely due of accumulated dust in the grill. It will return to normal volume and volume if you remove this dust from the grill.
Even if you use something to drive dust further within, you’ll still have difficulty cleaning that grill because of its narrow grill openings. Xiaomi built a feature that plays a high-pitched noise to remove the dust from the speaker grill, which is what they did.
- Clearing the Speaker on Xiaomi Devices
- Select Preferences from the drop-down menu.
- Then, click on More Options.
- Make sure the Clear Speaker option is selected.
- Use the Clear Spekaer button.
- The phone can be tapped.
Shake the smartphone to remove any stray dust that may have accumulated afterward. Alternatively, you can gently tap the phone on a wooden table to remove any dust that may have accumulated. Avoid slamming the phone on the ground with such force that it damages it.
These settings should be tried 2 to 4 times, including tapping, if your phone’s speaker is still at a low volume. If the problem persists, you should bring your phone to a service centre for repair.
